This paper is based on the book “Help is Just Around the Corner” by Virgil Gulker, founder of Love INC. The book identifies the problems of welfare departments, helping agencies and churches that provide important services but were unable to affect many of people’s basic problems. The book provides a practical solution that doesn’t overtax pastors or lay guilt trips on church members – Love INC – a grass-root, Christ centered practical approach that involves the church in ways that address the needs of the poor within the community and creates opportunities for evangelism with a tangible expression of the love of Christ on a one-to-one basis.
